Advertising: Superbowl Ads

In advertising, the creators try to grab the viewers attention by having the ad be about something funny or to guilt people into thinking a certain way. When it comes to ads for the Superbowl I find that ads that have a humor message appeal are most effective. The ads that deal with humor and beer are the ones that receive the most attention during the football season. The commercial I found to be very funny and effective was the one with Will Ferrell (actor from Semi Pro) advertising for Bud Light beer. The commercial was shown during the Superbowl as an attempt to tell the viewers to drink Bud Light because the actor drinks it and you should to. I had seen the movie Semi Pro with Will in it, so I found this particular commercial to be hilarious. If the viewer has seen the movie and knows and likes Will Ferrell, they will find the commercial to be equally funny. This is a commercial that is effective if the viewer enjoys Bud Light (or any beer for that matter) and has seen the movie. The advertisers who put on the commercials during the Superbowl come up with interesting ads to catch the attention of consumers that are different and more amusing than anything they have ever seen before. I always enjoy seeing what new ads that are coming out during the football season.
